THE STONE OF OUR GENERATION
"Blue-violet zoisite," a 20th-century stone, was discovered in 1967 in Tanzania, where the only mine is located.
In 1968, Tiffany & Co. named this gem "tanzanite." Tanzanite became popular practically overnight.
Tanzanite's beauty and rarity make it a treasure. This stone is unique because it exhibits a phenomenon known as trichroism, which causes it to radiate three different colors: blue, violet, and red. The most prized tanzanites are a deep, vibrant blue with hints of purple.
Tanzanite is known as the “gemstone of our generation” for the short but memorable life of its source.
